Trevor Lambert hosted the annual Garboldisham Cricket Clubs Presidents Day. Trevor arranged lunch & tea on top of ale and wine for the 150 players and guests on a perfect day for cricket Garboldisham 1st team beat Trevor Lambert’s Presidents XI by 7 wickets in a highly entertaining day. The Presidents team including former England opening bowler Devon Malcolm set 263 with Wollaston CC’s Nick Shelton scoring a half century. Garboldisham in reply chased the target down with ease with 50’s for Rob Fuller & Kieran Pask but the star of the day was Matt Allin who decided to turn up with the bat for a change scoring a classy 111. Garboldisham CC 1st XI will be taking on a Presidents’ select XI in the clubs annual Presidents’ Day. This season Trevor has included former England fast bowler Devon Malcolm in his side to try to end the 1st XI’s recent dominance. The match is on Sunday 1st September with an 11am start. The bar will be open all day for anyone to come up and enjoy a days cricket

Garboldisham Cricket Club has introduced a new scheme this season that recognises hard work throughout the training session and also an improvement in a particular skill or area of cricket. The Super Student of the week award will be handed out every week after Junior Training. The children who have won the Super Student of the week award so far this season are as follows; Emily, George, Sonny, Miles and Denni The awards will continue to be given throughout the rest of the season so keep up the hard work and well done to all those that have won the award so far  

The club are running a Fantasy League for the upcoming Cricket World Cup. It costs £5 to enter per team There will be a cash prize for the winner and the club will also get a cut from the total pot raised. A reminder to all that Youth training starts this Friday. Training starts at 6pm and will finish around 8pm (weather and light dependant) Please try to be there from 5:30 so registration can be completed and so we can start at 6pm Junior membership – £10 Coaching- £3 per child, £2 (after 1st child) if you have more than 1 child training

Garboldisham Cricket Club are offering companies chance to sponsor the club for the 2019 season. Prices for sponsorship are as follows; 1 year – £300, 2 years £450. Companies that sponsor the club will have their board mounted on the end of the clubhouse facing the drive as this will give the most exposure for advertising. To go with the package you will also have an A4 plaque inside the clubhouse plus be listed on the club website with a link to your company website. The annual ECB NatWest Cricket Force works party weekend will be held on 6th & 7th April, between 9am-3pm. Please come along and lend a hand – support from all club members is key to ensure that the ground, pitch and clubhouse are all  ready for the new season. The bar will be open to keep you refreshed and bacon rolls will be available for all those helping. The Grand National will then be shown in the clubhouse for all those who have an interest in the race.
