A lack of funds for new equipment and building repairs mean that Garboldisham B and C teams may only be able to use four stumps this season instead of the usual six. Club Welfare Officer and wielder of the big stick, Debbie Raven said, “The coffers are empty, we need players to pay their annual subs as soon as possible so that I can go out and buy some new stumps.”
But seriously, all players must make sure that they are registered as club members for the season before they are eligible to play any matches. The £10.00 membership fee covers players’ insurance against injury and goes towards the upkeep and maintenance of the club. This year, there will also be an extra £15.00 surcharge per player, as agreed in the AGM, to help fund a contractor to put the pitches to bed at the end of the season. Please complete both membership forms and hand them in with a cheque or cash to Debbie.
